The team saw an opportunity to improve sales by turning more quotes into orders when they looked for ways to improve sales after Covid-19 disrupted their market. And to make it fun, the team created a ‘Baseball’ themed game to help keep their eye on the goal.
The rules to the game were simple. A prize was awarded each week based on the quote conversion ratio for the prior week. The grand prize was based on the total points accumulated at the end of the nine-weeks. See rules of the game below.
Overall, the team scored 26 points during the nine-week game. They increased their quote conversion ratio from 14% during the January to June time period to 45% during the game time period. This increase had a $509,814 impact on sales. Equally important, however, was the positive impact on team collaboration and communication. Going forward, the quote conversation rate will be a critical KPI for the team.
