The Restart Center gains momentum
Activity at the reconditioning center is now firmly established. To consolidate it, Emmanuel Chabaneix, the Site Manager, and Ludovic Jankov, the Used Equipment Manager, cultivate the partnerships we have with our long-standing customers and continue their communication work with the subsidiaries. These efforts led to two major events at the end of 2022.
1. Customers visit the Restart Center
On November 30, Pekkaniska and Vertimac came to visit the Restart Center.
On the agenda was a discovery of the workshop and a presentation of the offer followed by a question-and-answer session. These two major European accounts made the trip after discussions during Open Up events and after reading articles published by the trade press following the launch of the Restart offer.
“These key accounts came in “observation” mode to find out and understand the levels of reconditioning available,” says Emmanuel Chabaneix.
Pekkaniska, based in Finland and Sweden, rents out platforms, cranes and forklift trucks all over northern Europe. The company has a fleet of over 7,000 machines which covers almost the entire Haulotte range. Vertimac, based in Belgium, operates in several trades, ranging from the distribution of lifting machines to rental and the sale of secondhand machines and spare parts.
These two long-standing customers are, first and foremost, partners. “We work with them in total transparency and are completely open about what we offer,” states Ludovic Jankov. Following the success of this first visit, new events will be scheduled during 2023.
2. Internal auctions: a convincing first
On December 2, the whole Europe team descended on the Restart Center! The General Managers, Service Managers and sales forces of each subsidiary were able to discover the workshop “live” thanks to an immersive tour. It was also an opportunity for the team at the Restart Center to remind everyone of the various reconditioning programs available.
At the end of the visit, a surprise auction awaited the participants, with an exceptional warranty extension of an additional 3 months offered by the Restart Center. The format proved popular, with two STAR10 and one HA15IP in the “Certified” program being sold.
“Everyone found the private sale experience interesting. We will be repeating this, as the system proved to be effective,” says Ludovic Jankov.
As we no longer have the element of surprise, the next sale of this type will be announced ahead of time, with the presentation of the auction lots and the initial prices. This private sale format will make it possible to know the machines that will be available for sale and to find out what will be coming in.
The presentation ended with a recap of the MEWPs we are looking for in 2023 for reconditioning purposes to enable us to provide our customers with a relevant offer. “We now have more insight into the business, and we can better target buoyant MEWPs. We are currently recovering equipment relevant to the Restart Center in collaboration with our German, British and French subsidiaries,” say Emmanuel Chabaneix and Ludovic Jankov.
