I have started my career after graduating with Bachelor of Engineering Mechatronics in 2007, have worked in Singapore’s MEWP industry as an Engineer for 11 years, out of which, past 6 years with Haulotte Singapore as a Service Engineer and Trainer. In 2014, when I first joined Haulotte, I went out into field very often for interventions, and it is significantly reduced due to different assignments and responsibilities such as Technical Support, Trainings and Warranty Administration. In February 2020, I relocated into Haulotte Australia. Thanks to the employer sponsored family visa arrangements by the Australian subsidiary, I have been enabled to settle with my family in Australia. Special thanks to John CHAN and Evan GOULIS for their bold decisions and invaluable guidance during my relocation, without them it was indeed an impossible task.
Ken ANG and VELU were my main mentors. For sure, they had guided me on how to thrive with challenges and survive under pressure!
This was a tough decision as I was making a move from a place that I love and have been living and working for 11 years of my professional career. I decided to move in consultation with my family, especially my wife who is very kind and always complements my corporate life.
Thinker, Prior Planner, Good Executor, Team Player and Follow Through Colleague. I will miss the bond with colleagues and customers around the region, as 6 years at Haulotte Singapore is filled with great deal of beautiful memories that we share.
It was overall a smooth transition. I have let my manager known my mobility wish during annual interviews of 2019 and 2020. The preparation of needed documentation such as proof of education, experience and English skills have helped me to speed up the visa application process.
Thanks to Haulotte Singapore for training me and providing me with various opportunities to work on different roles in the past 6 years and widen my job scope, prepared me to be able to adapt to various cross functional job roles such as Training, Technical Support, PDI, Field and Warranty Administrations.
The value charter is the perfect example and I am very fortunate to have witnessed its implementation in Haulotte Singapore and Haulotte Australia, and I will always Dare Together with team to keep this up.
Busy days in PDI section performing Customisation/Options installation, PDI Inspections and QAs on time to deliver what is promised. In Haulotte Australia, the workflow is very systematic and easy to follow, the team I am working with right now on a daily basis is professional, dynamic, motivated and very detail oriented. There is always a tap on the shoulder for the whole team and applause by the higher management team when the job is well done, or when help is provided. Routine sharing sessions by the higher management team on updates and snapshots always on time to let the whole team know where we are standing and heading.
Continuing Competency Development of Haulotte Staff, Dealers and End-Users by executing and managing training/technical support activities, expanding Haulotte training business.
My interest is working on machinery, and also I applied to working in foreign companies, that prompted me to come to Haulotte. It has been eight years since I first came to Haulotte Changzhou. I’ve been working in the workshop for seven years. I always want to learn new things. Fortunately, there is an opportunity in Shanghai. So I decided to have a try.
I consider Maya as my main mentor in my professional career. I was only 19 when I first came to Haulotte. At that time, I complained a lot when I was in trouble during my work. Maya let me know that the best way to get the rid of troubles is to figure out the cause of the problem and have more tries patiently instead of complaining.
With the help of department manager and HR, I successfully became an Haulotte Shanghai employee on June 24th, 2019.
Moving to Haulotte Shanghai has not been a difficult decision. Although my family live in Changzhou, they all support me a lot. They think I will improve very fast in Shanghai. I appreciate my family so much, especially my wife. She takes good care of our daughter and our parents in Changzhou. I think my experience in Changzhou helped me a lot. Compared with other candidates, I am more familiar with Haulotte machines.
Sure, I miss everything from Changzhou as relationships with colleagues were great. They considered me as a hardworking and helpful guy. But we need to move forward. I had such a good opportunity and my colleagues in Shanghai help me a lot. So I finished my own tasks and instructed the replacement person to make sure he can take up my job. Now I enjoy my job in Shanghai as well!
My role changes from a workshop operator to a workshop engineer. I need to learn actively and ask for advice modestly.
I do SMI when we receive new machines and conduct PDI before the delivery. Also, I will be responsible of the delivery of the machines according to the customer demands. I probably will learn how to repair machines in the workshop! Anyway I will help with workshop environment maintenance. I sometimes will help to repair some office electronics when it is urgent and the repairman is not available.
There is a good corporate spirit and shared values. Codes of conduct and cultural environment are the ground for positive development. I hope the business of Haulotte Shanghai will be better and better with the effort of all employees in Shanghai including mine.
As colleagues think I am hardworking, helpful and have strong willingness to learn new thing, I hope to continue growing within the company. Within five years, I would like to improve myself on problem solving methods with Haulotte machines and become a skilled engineer.
