A Friday Talk About CSR
The Haulotte Group has begun to formalize its sustainable development approach. Employees were able to find out more on this topic on June 24 last during a Friday Talk organized with Kiloutou. Having one of our largest customers at the event showed the strategic importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) while the strong engagement by our teams demonstrated their interest in these matters.
Friday Talks, which began a little over a year ago, are discussions organized by employees for employees. Their purpose is to share issues about the industry and how they tie in with the group’s strategy. For this twelfth edition, we brought Kiloutou in to talk about sustainable development!
“We have the same goals, tied to regulations and our respective customers,” explained Bérenger Dudek, CSR Manager, Europe. He had even participated in Kiloutou’s CSR Label Committee, bringing an outside perspective to the processes initiated by our customer.
Bérenger prepared the Friday Talk in partnership with Kiloutou, represented by Audrey Miclard, Sustainable Development Director, Perrine Leborgne, Head of Sustainable Development Projects, and Nadège Brunon, Lift Regional Director. “Since Friday Talks are essentially interactive, we organized the talk into an explanation part followed by an open conversation part around a machine with Haulotte employees.” Bérenger added.
A Strategic Focus for the Future
Between electrification of the range and enhanced safety features for our machines, everyone could see how Haulotte’s innovations are driving forces in moving toward sustainable development.
“Many participants asked questions and suggested ideas to improve our commitment on this trajectory. It was the first effort to communicate about CSR in the group,” Bérenger Dudek explained. He had only taken on this position in June. “We are working on many issues, including the group’s carbon footprint. It will be used to gradually establish further actions.”
This Friday Talk was also a chance to inform employees that there are several people assigned to sustainable development and could be contacted if an employee wanted to talk or do something about it. After all, sustainable development involves each and every one of us! With more than 70 people in attendance, this Friday Talk was one of the largest. “Employees feel involved. They are concerned by this topic. I think people want to push the group further in this direction,” Bérenger Dudek concluded.
