Heart Founder, Michelle Pearce explains what HEART is for and where it came from. “We set up HEART to not only address some of the results of the engagement survey, but to provide a place, even if it is sometime virtual, for team members to be creative, bond with each other and have fun!”, said Michelle, HEART Captain. “We found especially during lockdown without personal interaction, the team needed a safe space to relax together”, adds Michelle.
So, HEART was born with the objective ‘to advance Haulotte Australia’s Culture through Health, Wellbeing and Social Activities’. The team hold regular meetings to map out what sort of activities are needed across the subsidiary. In the first two months there has been a focus on mental health and working together to raise money for charity.
In November HEART pooled its resources to raise money for men’s health which saw several team members grow Moustaches for Movember.
“The idea is that you start the month of November with a clean face and then don’t shave until December” explains Michelle. It was great that we got so many participants, including some ladies who were able to join by logging steps instead of growing Mo’s,” adds Michelle.
In total Haulotte Australia raised of $1,730.10 thanks to some truly spectacular moustaches and the positive group attitude from Michelle and the HEART members.
“It’s still very early days and we are still mapping out what our 2021 focusses will be, but to see over $1000 raised by the Haulotte colleagues in just one month, I am so proud and can’t wait to see what the next achievement will be”, adds Michelle.
Future ideas HEART is considering for 2021 include, regular exercise classes, other charity support, BBQ’s and social outings once COVID restrictions allow!
