The Charter of Values is being updated
The 2022 – 2025 strategic plan includes a unique leadership model based on our charter of values. This is an opportunity for us to update it, give it more visibility and even more importance.
“The organization has matured and our charter of values has played a key role. We are now ready to take the next steps. We can be confident, because what we are doing today was unimaginable for many only four or five years ago. We are moving forward together and growing together,” says Didier Grivel, the Empowerment Director.
The values charter, with its 51 related practices, came into being in 2017 with the Let’s Dare transformation plan. It is Haulotte’s first “bottom-up” cross-functional project involving employees from all departments and countries.
Today, all the Group’s employees are on board with the philosophy, even if, as many admit, it is very dense, which does not make it easy to get familiar with all its ins and outs.
Its content was the basis for the construction of Haulotte’s empowering leadership model. During its preparation, the idea of reviewing how our values are presented was addressed.
Maintaining continuity
Following the presentation of the leadership model, the Executive Committee decided to aim for greater clarity and opted to promote three values Respect – Commitment – Performance.
“Nothing of the old charter of values has been lost, as we have kept the meaning and all the ideas. To make sure of this, we worked with the employee ambassadors who participated in drafting the first charter,” explains Laura Birades, the Talent Development Manager.
These employees found it easier to read, and a true reflection of what they wrote at the time. Their insightful comments also enabled us to make other changes and clarifications, and to improve its presentation.
At the end of this collaborative work, our Charter is now based on
- the three “key” values broken down into 18 skills, and
- on our leadership model and its related skills for the employees and managers
We will be presenting the values and skills over the next few weeks.
The leadership model will be progressively established throughout the group during 2023 and 2024 through training and explanation sessions.
